WOYWW 89

I totally missed last weeks WOYWW, just forgot about it! So here I am all shame faced today ready to see if you will take me back. So what is on my table this week? Not a lot!

I managed to get it tidy again after the last few weeks working on different projects. You can see my work mats, the glass one I managed to pick up  in UK for £5 when I was there last, a bargain I thought. The red one is a table mat from a local cafe but it makes a great surface to glue on as it wipes clean every time. The paper on the left is a sheet I found the other day in my cupboard. its from the Heidi Swapp Invisibles line. You know what its like you buy a few sheets cos you just love the look, then never use them because they are for something special! The punch and stamps in the middle of the table are some of the order we as a craft group put in to a Stamping up agent in the UK. Now is it just me are do others have the same thoughts on Stamping up, you pay quite a lot for the stamps and then you have to trim them and put them together yourself! wtf For what you pay they should come in a gold box, I know they are a good quality but there are better stamps for less out there I think...... Ok rant over, its just I HATE trimming stamps.

So if you have got this far and have not fallen asleep and would like to see other peoples tables go over and see our great leader Julia HERE and join in the fun.

Thanks for reading,
 Cath

Hi Cath - hope you are well. I must have been very lucky - as you know from my blog I LOVE Stampin' Up products and my lovely demonstrator Rosie always mounts my stamps on their block before she gives them to me. Which set did you get by the way? - Jacqueline xx

As a former SU demo there was the pat answer to your all to common rant. You can mount them exactly how you want. Now they are die cut it's much easier, the ones that kill me are the clings. I have to put my own stickers on the back, really? You don't have a machine that will do that PERFECTLY instead of my mucking them up. Ok now my rant is done.

Your desk says ready, set, craft.

I don't mind too much about cutting up stamps now that I have stopped using that revolting EZ backing. The stamps work perfectly, attached temporarily to a rocker block. I actually quite like the cling ones too, as you can bend the sentiments, for example, to fit the shape you want. The very best though, in my opinion, are the Clarity Stamps, which work every time.

GET REAL

they want your money not your love...

if they have ANY SENSE and have a desire for repeat sales,

they will listen to their customer (you) and mend their ways...

What a tidy desk...
I have no experience of Stampin Up, apart from Youtube video. Didn't know they provide the stamps unmounted.

I'm with you, Cath, I don't like to trim stamps either!

A tidy desk, although it is still looking very creative. The glass mat sounded as though you found a bargain!
Have a lovely day,

I totally share your rant Cath - the SU stamps should be ready cut and mounted as they are already more than most in the market anyway! Glad you like the glass mat - it WAS a bargain for sure. Bit envious of your tidy desk today!

Totally with you on the SU thing, I've never bought any of their stamps, apart from a few used single ones on ebay, and that's one of the reasons. They charge an arm and a leg and I know they're really good quality but a savvy shopper can get good stuff for half the price.

Have to agree about the Su stamp prices- don't see how they can justify it to be honest. I like u/m, and I do like mine on EZ mount, but I expect to pay less for u/m, not the same as mounted, or more!

Nice neat desk! Here in the states the new Stampin Up stamps come either on wood or you can get them on cling foam. They are both now die cut so hang in there I bet they will go that way someday over there!

No need to feel shame as I've missed 13 weeks and it is good to be back. I've haven't bought any Stampin'Up products yet but sounds like a logical rant to me.

Cath your rant did make me giggle, i also know what you mean about special papers....i have a whole 12inch tub full of them although i'm making a concerted effort to use some of them now.
Forgot to take a photo on wednesday, but had to do some snooping, lol.
Going home for a holiday in March...off to the craft fair in Glasgow, hoping for as good a bargain as you found with your glass mat.
