Found a new Blog

I was busy doing nothing just blog hopping as you do and I came across this site Alter it monthly Now I am not one to join in with a lot of these challenge blogs but a couple have caught my eye lately and this is one. If you want to join in with this month's challenge you will have to be quick as it finishes in a few days. The theme this month is Home sweet Home, anything to do with house or home. So here is my entry.

Do not ask my why its blue as I took red and green inks off the shelf but just liked these papers. The papers and shape's are from Collections Elements in Australia, these papers are from the Shabby Chic pack, the houses and heart are also from them. I know the key should of been darker but I do not own any other keys or any alcohol inks and couldn't think of any other way to recolour it. I am sorry about the state of my photos this last few days but I have somehow deleted my editing software and as I am having to re do windows 7 on my computer this weekend I am stuck with having to use paint.

Hope you like it.

This photo was taken last night after I had been playing and before I had got around to tiding up. So what is on my desk just a lot of bits really, I had started to put everything away after getting the kids things ready and just decided to try something! you know how it is.....

This is a closeup of the tag I made.

If you are wondering why I am showing my desk in this state please go over to our leader the great Julia by following the link in the side bar.

I was having problems again last week with leaving comments, I think I only managed to comment on about a third, I hope to get more this week.

Look what I did.......

Just a quick post to show you just what I have been up to this afternoon,

I took the frame that was on my desk on wed and covered it in book pages that I then sprayed with shimmer mist. I didnt like the bright colour so I rubbed on fired brick DI. The tag, bingo and flower are all Tims. the wings and heart is by and Australian co called Collections Elements and the number is from a very old tin of metal numbers and letters from We R Memory Keepers, the stamp I am not sure of. Hope you like it I know I do.

Whats today? Its play day........

Had a brill time this morning doing Claudines class with Jack. We have decided to stick with doing the class a week behind everyone else as we have trouble sourcing a few things so it will give us time to find alternativies. So this week when I go shopping I have to find two 7in embroidery rings! I have an idea where to find them. Here is a photo of what we got up to today.

I loved doing the painting with the comb through it and the stamping with paint on to sticky back canves, not to sure about the reverse stamping though. The card was done using all of todays techniques.

While I was taking this photo my camera told me it was full so I decided to get rid of a few old photos that are still (dont know why) on there and I found this!
Is there anyone on there you can recognise? look very carefully in the middle and you might just see Lord Tim. This was taken at a class in the NEC two years ago. If you can see yourself on there please let me know.

Right I am off to play some more.

Good afternoon all. I am running late again, but this is going to be my normal time through the summer (unless I do this post the night before!) as I have my kids on a wed morning.
So what is on my desk today? some art mags that I bought an age ago, they are in Turkish but I liked the artwork. A folder on Art Journaling, some paints I was given free the other day and a frame I took a liking to,

and I better not forget the cat.....
There are still some bits on there from the card making I did the other day, but I have to get it all cleared ready for this weeks play painting day.
If you are wondering just what I am rambling on about have a look over at our leader Julia, the link is in the side bar.

Right off to have a good look around, I will try to comment but I have had trouble the last few weeks with the pop out boxes, so if I don't leave a comment that is why.

Belated Happy Birthday Hal

It was my oh's birthday yesterday so I got to make him a card, now I dont know about youlot but I have trouble making mens cards and when its for your own its even worse, but here is what I came up with.

Its a bit dark on here as I put it in the scanner instead of getting a photo, but I dont think its too bad.

We had a nice day yesterday but today we are going to watch the air display as its a national holiday today in the north. Today is the
anniversary of the day the Turkish army landed on the Island. Now it all depends on which side of the Island you live as to whether they came to stop the mass killings of the Turkish people that had been going on for years or they just decided they wanted to invade Cyprus and divide the Island, the answer is up to you!

So what is on my workdesk today........ NOTHING. I had a big clearup after my painting day yesterday and have been so busy today with other things that I have not had time to get on here before now, so sorry no photos no nothing.

Well ok how about a little somthing I did a long time ago. I made this for a competition just to show that you don't just have to use paint on a canvas! The young girls in the photo were not a plant they play by that bin as it is just across the road from the house and Mum can see them from the kitchen window.

Sorry feeling a bit melancholy at the moment as there is a lot going on around me, might blog about it later.

Painting day (photo added)

Had a great time this morning with my friend Jack as we started the prompts for our Claudine course.
This is jack trying to work out which end of the paintbrush to use!

We had fun with gesso, extra time and paint, we did etching into gesso and we used the trees I had on the table on Wednesday, we stuck them into the gesso now we have to wait for them to dry before we can rub the backs off. We did stamping with watermark pads then painted over and peeled paint technique but mine was all wrong. You can see a few of our efforts here.
Not sure why the yellow page is stood on a plastic cup!
Just got to wait till next week now to do it all again.

Ok couldnt wait! this is the white and green page from the photo above but after I have taken the backing paper off. I love this technique its like magic.

That time of week again

This is such a rush as I have been out all day with the class then lunch then round to a friends to drop off some bits, but this is what my desk looked like last night.

I had been painting ready for Claudine's class, I don't have all the colours I need yet so that is why they are still there waiting to be finished. You can also see some offcuts of frame I found the other day that I will try to get a mold from.

This is the kids from this morning enjoying making the journals ready for the summer classes. I will have to redo this class as a lot were in the UK.

June's pages

I have got June's and July's pages scanned and on here at last. I managed to get July's pages painted a few weeks ago then just did not know what to do with them! Then I was playing around with some masks with the kids class and that reminded me about using a stencil I have had for years, it is one I got from the Crafters Workshop and have used over and over again. The pages are just a nice yellow with the stencil done in Weathered wood  distress ink then the squares in a contrasting green. The first few months I did this challenge I just did the basic colouring for the pages then filled in the rest with doodling and colour as the month progressed. I have not done this for the last few  months so thought I would go back to it again.

So here are June and July.
